Default What else to play besides poker ?

Depending on my frame of mind, I'm not always up to playing some Holdem. But I do like to gamble, but just not with the same intensity as multitable poker has, right now I've started to try out some Blackjack / 21 online, and it's enjoyable enough, but isn't really as profitable as I would like.

My strategy is to bet 1/5 of my pot, so $20 bets when I play with $100, and the goal is to try and get to 200% of what I started on. If I reach it, I increase to 20% of the new sum, i.e. $40 per bet. I also try to stop, once I've reached 500% of my initial sum. So if I put in $100, I would be happy when it ends with $500. The problem I see is that for these games, the longer you play them, the more likely that probability and statistics get the better of you. I think blackjack has the house advantage between 2-5% meaning you play with $100 for a long time, with small bets, you will end up $2-$5 down. My strategy is to generally have a set acceptable level that I am willing to walk away from the table, be it up $50 or up $400.

Right now I must admit it's not the best strategy, but at least it's a start.

I've also started to look at some bets on football and horses, but so far it's really been hit or miss.

What do you gamble on when you are bored ?

Generally when I don't feel the need to play, I stay away from the computer and rest my eyes and brain. I have some poker books that I like to read, but normally I stay away from the world of poker when I am resting.

With some online tournaments being up to 6 hours+ after one of them I don't really have the stamina to do much else

Besides poker I also play blackjack, but I tend to get carried away, or at least dissociatate the amount of money I am playing with. At least with poker you have a fair enough idea of your chances, but blackjack or other games are more depending on chance.

In my free time I sit back and work on a few websites, and research tournaments to go to. I am trying more and more to get into live games, and cash games, as I see that I can best maximise my ROI with those types of games. It's important to know when to step away from the table though !

Try blackjack. It has the highest payout among casino games. I play this games called ipad casino when I get bored from poker or don`t have access to my PC.

Yeah , another vote for blackjack or 21, you just have to be careful that you don't go and blow all your money in a few minutes. It's very easy to bet $10, $50 or more on a 2 cards.
