So this is the first post, on the first day that we are live with our forum. It's my wish that in the future we will have a great community of poker players here. Over the last 4 years poker has really taken off in Ireland, now local games take place every night of every week of the year all around the country. From the wilds of Kerry to the tip of Donegal more and more people are part taking in poker. The most popular game is Texas Hold'em followed by Omaha and Stud.

Irish Poker Forums will also be bringing you the latest news and offers for poker players in Ireland. Whether you play off-line or on-line, or both, it's still very helpful to talk to other poker players and find out how certain hands should have been played.

Playing poker should be enjoyable and mentally stimulating and we hope that our forums will give you some food for thought too.

Best of luck Paul.
There are tonnes of seasoned poker players over on boards.ie. You're targeting beginners though, are you?

Also, I didn't think it was possible to have Google Adsense on poker/gambling related sites?

Hi cormac, thanks for your words, the goal of IPF is to target all Irish poker players. And to see how things grow. At the start I wanted to have an emphasis on new players as many of the seasoned players already use places like boards.ie.

As for Google Adsense, I wasn't aware of that, and in the meantime until I figure it out I've disabled those ads.

It's a bit of a gray area by the looks of things. The policy says you can't have adsense on gambling related sites - https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=48182 - But Poker isn't necessarily a gambling sport. You can play poker without gambling.

Thanks WMJ. That's a good idea, added that here (http://www.irishpokerforum.com/showthread.php?p=27) . I'm still caught up in creating a nice (very green) skin for the board to give IPF a bit of an identity.

this looks like it could be a great resource, all you need is for people to find the place.

Hi kamal al jabar , welcome to the board !
A breakaway group from boards ? interesting stuff.
This place is really underused in my opinion and we could do with a few members. :D
